This isn't the family's first dog. They are a canine-friendly household and already have several fur babies that they couldn't wait to meet their newest fur sister. They had to wait several days to get everything together. Firstly, Kona had to wait at the pound for at least five days to properly ensure that she wasn't a lost dog. Once everyone was sure she was a stray, they still had to wait to get all of her paperwork done in order to fly her back to LA.
Luckily, it's easier to fly a dog within the same country, so it wasn't as complicated as adopting a dog from a different country, but it still took time. The family was already dedicated, however, and simply checked into a dog-friendly hotel with Kona while they waited. During those several days they waited for the paperwork, they explored the island together and bonded with sweet Kona!

Kona and her entire family of humans and other pups are extremely happy now. You can see Kona is extra appreciative about her new life, which is so full of love. In one video, the teen daughter posted on TikTok, she calls for the dogs, and they all come running. But it is Kona who leaps into her arms and gives her kisses as if to say, “thank you, thank you, thank you!” Kona even sleeps with her favorite human, even though they gave her a doggy bed for herself. It seems that she prefers to be near her rescuer, and they are both happy to cuddle.
